140 years ago, Swedish immigrants gathered to develop a church in downtown Seattle. Gethsemane Lutheran now asks how to continue welcoming and being community in a new day.
Our hope is to gather people from area churches to discuss how this matters across our synod, especially as we are enlivened by and minister with Latino neighbors.
Guided by the goals of strengthening the sharing of the good news of Jesus Christ and promoting inclusivity without assimilation and diversity without segregation, let’s come together to share in worship, food, and conversation.
All are welcome to the worship service at 10am, with both Spanish and English spoken.
Our guest preacher at Mass for the morning service is Salvador Cossio who serves as Pastor and Youth Director at Grace Lutheran Church, Des Moines, WA. GLC is providing a wonderful taco bar for lunch, and to help us prepare food, please let us know who is coming and if you are able to bring a side dish or dessert to share.
